Sports Medicine Information for Visiting Teams

The Oberlin College Sports Medicine Staff welcomes you and your athletic teams to our campus. We offer our services and access to our facilities as you need. The following will be available for you to make your visit a comfortable one:

The Sports Medicine Center is adjacent to Williams Field House, and we have taping and treatment tables, heat packs, ice, and modalities that certified athletic trainers traveling with their teams are welcome to use. If a team is not traveling with an athletic trainer, we are happy to help with heat, ice, and any taping/bracing needed, but please send an email ahead of the team to let us know so we are able to manage our time to help your athletes. We will not complete any electric modalities for visiting team athletes.

There is an auxiliary athletic training room located in Philips Gym, room 119. This space is available for athletic trainers with visiting teams who have visiting locker room space in Philips Gym. Please let us know if you will be traveling with your team so we can be sure to have the auxiliary athletic training room open for your use.

On the sidelines, we will always have water and ice with bags, with cups available upon request. We always have an AED and vacuum splints, as well as crutches available, if needed.

If an emergency should occur, the emergency room we use is Mercy Allen Hospital (200 W Lorain St), which is located on campus, less than a mile from all athletic facilities. If needed, ambulance services are available and will take athletes to this hospital unless otherwise directed.

Again, we want to welcome you to Oberlin College and hope you will have everything you need while you are here!

Thank you,
Oberlin College Sports Medicine Staff
