Wooster, Ohio – Opening their fall season with a dominant showing, the Oberlin College women's tennis team swept their doubles matches and won 16 singles matches at the Wooster Invitational.
Rookies
Anastasia Cheng and
Arina Kuzmina swept their doubles match against Otterbein, while also winning 6-4 over Wooster.
Stella Kollmansberger and
Lauren Hatfield swept both of their doubles matches over two different pairs of the Otterbein lineup.
Rachel Allen and
Eva Lopez paired up to win three doubles matches, sweeping two matches while defeating Otterbein's Breanna Ball and Nora Pixler 6-4.
Hannah Soong and
Freya Rahm teamed up to win their three doubles matches, while
Olivia Guzman and
Grace Moloney won both doubles matches, including a sweep over Ursuline's Paris Hirsch and Emily Bialkoswki.
Singles competition continued to be victory after victory for Oberlin as all eight competing Obies won a pair of singles matches. Though some matches ended after the first set due to the rain, Kuzmina highlighted with a 6-0, 6-0 sweep over Ursuline's Giavanna Victor.
The Crimson and Gold return to fall play this Saturday, September 19, and Sunday, September 20 for the Oberlin Invitational, their first fall showing on the new courts.
