Women's Soccer Challenges Franciscan in Narrow Decision

Steubenville, Ohio – The Oberlin College women's soccer team outshot Franciscan and generated several opportunities during a strong second-half performance in the 1-0 road loss.

Oberlin established its attack early, with Samantha Dormer and Kylie Tinnirella recording back-to-back shots in the 11'. Emma Molde followed with an attempt on goal in the 18', forcing a save from the Franciscan goalkeeper.

The Crimson and Gold found another level after halftime, holding a 3-1 advantage in corner kicks over the final 45'. Leah Thompson recorded an attempt following an Oberlin corner in the 72'  before Maya Tackett placed a shot on goal less than three minutes later.

Oberlin maintained the pressure with consecutive corner kicks and another attempt from Dormer during an active stretch late in the match. Defensively, the Yeowomen held Franciscan scoreless over the final 74', with Quinn Hardy making a second-half save in a complete-game effort.

The Obies finished with a 7-6 advantage in total shots and a 3-1 edge in corner kicks. Molde and Tackett each placed an attempt on goal, while six different Oberlin players recorded at least one shot.
