Berea, Ohio – Opening day one of the Sparky Adams Invitational with the throwing events,
Namu Makatiani and
Andres Adam of the Oberlin College men's track & field team competed in the javelin hosted by Baldwin Wallace on Friday afternoon.
Makatiani led the Crimson and Gold, launching a mark of 44.59m in his sixth attempt, placing fourth overall and securing five early points for Oberlin. Adam followed, producing a throw of 35.29m in his opening attempt, grabbing a 12th-place finish.
With Makatiani's five points, Oberlin sits at fourth overall out of nine teams.
Makatiani, Adam, and the rest of the Crimson and Gold will return to BW tomorrow, Saturday, April 18, at 10 a.m. for a full day of track and field, while the Oberlin throwers will travel to Kenyon for the Duane Gomez Invitational with events kicking off at 10 a.m.
