Westlake, Ohio – Sophomore Oberlin College women's lacrosse attacker,
Kylie Thompson, has been named the North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday morning.
"I'm really proud of Kylie and the team for our performance in Portland." Head Coach
Malory Nadrah added, "She was a part of the spark and consistency we needed on the offense end to seal the deal both games. She showed great composure in beautifully placing shots through the teams' fast breaks and feeds to her."
The sophomore delivered a historic week to lead the Crimson and Gold to a perfect 2-0 spring break trip and clinch a winning season.
Thompson opened with two goals and a team-best four assists for six points in an 11-10 overtime win over Lewis & Clark. She followed with a career performance against Alma, totaling five goals and five assists for 10 points while adding two ground balls, two draw controls, and a caused turnover in a 16-11 victory.
Her five assists tied the program's single-game record, while her ten-point outing marked the first by an Oberlin player since 2020. Thompson's 16-point week powered Oberlin to its first winning season since 2018.
The Crimson and Gold return home this Saturday, April 4 for a home game against the Wittenberg Tigers to open their NCAC slate. The draw is set to go up at 1 p.m.
