Oberlin, Ohio – Opening their spring season at home, the Oberlin College women's tennis rallied from 3-1 for victory over Rochester on Sunday afternoon.

Rochester earned the doubles point, after wins at No. 2 and No. 3.
Freya Rahm and
Rachel Allen fell 6-2 on the second court, just before
Stella Kollmansberger and
Olivia Guzman dropped their No. 3 set 6-3.
Oberlin grabbed one win, the top court victory which came from the seasoned duo of
Scarlett Kingston and
Eva Lopez. The sophomore teammates won 6-4 over the Yellow Jackets.
Down 1-0, the Yeowomen sunk to 2-0 after Allen fell 6-0, 6-1. At No. 1 singles, Kollmansberger got the Crimson and Gold's first win with a 6-2, 6-4 victory. Next, Lopez tied the match with a 6-4 win in the first set, and a 6(3)-7 win in the second.
On court No. 3, Kingston battled a 6-4, 4-6 over two sets to face a third. Rochester's Katie Yang carried her second set momentum into the third to grab a 6-1 win, putting the Yellow Jackets one win away from match victory.
Meanwhile, on singles court No. 5, Rahm took care of business 6-4, 6-0 to tie the match 3-3. Down to the wire, Guzman held the Crimson and Gold's fate in her racket. Dominating under the pressure, the rookie earned a 6-2, 6-1 win to earn the Yeowomen's season-opening win.
Guzman and Co. travel to Ohio Northern next weekend, Saturday February 21 for their first road test and next match.
