Oberlin, Ohio – Hosting their first North Coast Athletic Conference home game of the season, the Oberlin College football team battled against Wooster on Saturday night.
 
Drew Nye recorded his third 150+ yard passing game of the season, amassing 163 years on 21 completions. His top target of the night was CJ Cooper II, who made seven catches for 48 yards. JJ Racz collected 65 yards on four catches, while Miguel Garcia Garcia caught two throws for 23 yards.
 
A trio of Obies carried the run game, led by Jayden Eaton with six attempts. Lance Slone and Daniel Pressley added to the effort, but the Fighting Scots' staunch ground defense held the Yeomen from making significant gains on the turf.
 
After Wooster scored a touchdown on a long, opening drive, Oberlin battled back on their next defensive stand. Starting at the Wooster 29-yard line, the Fighting Scots drug their way downfield, despite big defensive plays by Andrew Foley and Judah Moenoa. On a 3rd and 8 from the red zone, pass to Wooster's Michael Boyle was met with a flying Ako Taylor II to break up the play. Hurried by Kingston Askerneese, the Fighting Scots were forced to settle for a field goal to close the quarter.
 
Moving ahead to the fourth period, Oberlin's defense continued to shine with their third shut-out quarter of the season. On Wooster's first drive, the Yeomen forced a three-and-out after Eaton, Foley, Jackson Bloomfield, Hunter Green, Askerneese, and Joey Draper shared tackles. Punting from their own 33-yard line, Oberlin got their drive started at the Wooster 38.
 
Maintaining the momentum, Nye slung the ball deep left to Jacz who caught it for a 42-yard pickup late in the fourth. Completing a short pass to Eaten on the next throw, the Yeomen lined up on the 4-yard line. Going for it on fourth down, Nye's pass fell incomplete to Garcia Garcia, turning the ball over on downs.
 
Holding their opponents to the lowest point total this season, the Yeomen take a well-deserved rest before returning to action on Saturday, October 4. Traveling to Indiana for a nationally-ranked matchup, the Yeomen take on No. 13 DePauw at 12:00 p.m.
