Box Score Wooster, Ohio – The Oberlin College women's tennis team turned in a strong showing at the Wooster Invitational, highlighted by several impressive singles and doubles victories across two days of play.
 
In singles action, Gabrielle Kirsch led the Yeowomen with three wins, including a tight 8-6 decision over Otterbein's Raina Smith and a straight-set victory over Wooster's Kamila Kadirova (7-6 [8-6], 6-4). Eva Lopez added a pair of victories, defeating Otterbein's Breanna Ball 8-4 and later topping Wooster's Sasha Riley in a 7-6 (7-3), 6-3 battle. Olivia Guzman matched that effort with two wins of her own, taking down Otterbein's Caitlin Pennington 8-3 and Wooster's Jade Adkins 6-0, 6-2.
 
Scarlett Kingston chipped in with an 8-5 win over Allgheny's Emiliia Grydnieva, while Olivia Wollner rallied for a 2-6, 6-3, 1–0 (12–10) triumph over Wooster's Lauren Richmond. 
 
The Crimson and Gold were equally sharp in doubles competition. Lopez and Kingston teamed up for four wins, including a 6-4 victory over Otterbein's Daniela De Mata and Breanna Ball and a 6-3 win over Allegheny's Emiliia Grydnieva and Anabel Bachman.
 
Guzman and Kirsch also collected three victories, highlighted by a 6-4 result against Wooster's Lauren Richmond and Elyse Errington. Wollner and Soong earned a key 6-3 win over Otterbein's Caitlin Pennington and Niya Bell, while Guzman paired with Robyn Gurujal for a 6–1 win against Wooster's Allyson Achiampong and Jaden Newman and later teamed with Kirsch to top Wooster's Richmond and Errington 6-4.
 
With depth across the lineup and a mix of veterans and newcomers contributing, the Yeowomen left Wooster with plenty of early-season momentum. They hit the courts for one last fall invitational on Saturday, October 4 for a two-day invite as Ashland.
