Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Crimson and Gold Host Greensburg on Labor Day

Oberlin, Ohio – Opening their home schedule on Monday afternoon, the Oberlin College women's soccer team played host to UPitt Greensburg. The Yeowomen fell 4-0 in the match, moving them to 0-1-1 on the year.

The goalkeeping duo of Roam Redington and Alison Grant split halves in cage, led by Redington with the start. Grant contributed a trio of saves in the second half.

Greensburg controlled the time of possession through much of the first, getting on the board at 6:50. Up one, Oberlin responded with a trio of shots from Samantha Dormer and Sophie Wilson. Both put shots on the cage, but neither was able to convert their tries into goals, and the Crimson and Gold went into halftime down 1-0.

The Oberlin midfield struggled to keep the ball away from the Bobcats, giving way to another Greensburg goal midway through the second half. The visitors tacked on another pair of scores before the half ended. Molly Button gave Oberlin their best chance at scoring late, getting a clear lane to shoot in the 77'. The rookie's shot came up just short as the Bobcats' keeper stood tall for the stop and clinched the 4-0 win for Greensburg.

Oberlin returns to Shults Field on Wednesday, September 3, when they host Kalamazoo for a midweek matchup. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
