Westlake, Ohio – After an incredible year on the court, field, pitch, and in the pool, the Oberlin College Athletics Department landed a historic 177 student-athletes on the
Dr. Gordon Collin Scholar-Athlete Honor Roll. This marks the most student-athletes on the North Coast's academic honor roll in Crimson and Gold history.
To be honored, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore on an active roster in a sport sponsored by the conference and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher. Eligible honorees are submitted by each school.
Men's lacrosse boasted the most student-athletes, with 20, while football followed close behind with 19. Among the women's teams, track and field landed 17 student-athletes, with swim and dive (15), lacrosse (14), and soccer (13) finishing in double-digits.
"While it's not surprising to see so many of our student-athletes on this list, it is deeply impressive." Associate Vice President for Athletics Advancement and Delta Lodge Director of Athletics & Physical Education,
Natalie Winkelfoos, remarks, "Our Obies go above and beyond in the classroom and on the court; they define what it means to be a student-athlete."
Oberlin finished second among North Coast schools, led by DePauw who finished with 190 student-athletes. Wooster (172), Kenyon (165), and Ohio Wesleyan (159) rounded out the top-five.
