Greenwood, Indiana – Five members of the Oberlin College baseball team were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District list.
Grayson Black,
Calvin Burkholder,

The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. To be eligible for selection, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore athletic status and either competed in 90% of the team's sets or started in at least 66% of matches while maintaining a 3.50 or higher cumulative grade point average.
Black, a Biology major, made ten appearances on the mound, pitching 45.2 innings. Earning a conference win over DePauw, the Florida native amassed 51 strikeouts this season.
Alongside him in the bullpen, Burkholder led the team on the mound with a 5-3 record through nine appearances. The Data Science major pitched a team-high 53.0 innings and earned NCAC Third-Team All-Conference honors for the first time this season.
Classmate Groves also clinched a spot on the Third-Team All-Conference list with a .308 batting average through 35 starts. The 3-2 Engineering major led the team with nine doubles through 41 hits and 19 RBI.
Hayes, a steady pitcher for the Crimson and Gold, threw for 37.0 innings and tallied 30 strikeouts. Majoring in Politics, the sophomore collected non-conference wins over Caltech and Heidelberg.
The lone senior on the list, Ritts, made 33 starts over the season primarily playing short stop for the Yeomen. The Economics major hit .292 in his final campaign to finish .302 on his career.
While Ritts has since graduated from the program, Black, Burkholder, Groves, and Hayes, are set to rejoin their teammates for the 2026 season this fall.
