Yeomen Remain Perfect at Home

Oberlin, Ohio – Grabbing their fourth win on Bailey Field, the Oberlin College men's lacrosse team remains perfect on home turf after beating Albion 16-6 on Saturday afternoon. Oberlin moves to 5-1 on the season.
 
Notching points from 11 different players, Christian Tacogue led the pack with three goals and two assists. Jacob Starcke added four goals to the effort, helped by Cooper Zancosky and Joe Chai who combined for five. In the assist column, Solomon Brennan and Nicholas Cuda tallied two apiece.
 
A force at the faceoff this year, Evan Sardina won 16-20, grabbing 15 ground balls on the way. Alexander L'Hommedieu and Jonas Taylor-Lillquist each finished with six ground balls, while L'Hommedieu added a caused turnover. Colin Taylor continued his hot streak with four ground balls and four caused turnovers.
 
Getting off to a slow start, Zancosky put the Yeomen on the board at the 5:28 mark. Albion responded with one of their own, but the Yeomen had the final say with a rocket from Starcke to close the quarter.
 
The Brits tied the game midway through the quarter, just before Chai found the back of the net to put Oberlin back on top. Chai connected again for the Crimson and Gold, giving th Yeomen a 4-2 lead at the half.
 
After giving up the first goal to Albion, Oberlin came out with a renewed energy for the third period. Scoring seven-straight goals, the Yeomen all but closed the door on Albion. Ryan Loughlin highlighted the run, driving straight to goal off the face-off.
 
An 11-3 lead, Oberlin scored four more unanswered goals to take an 11-goal advantage over Albion. The Brits scored two points in garbage time, but Cuda to Starcke put the final insurance goal away and clinched the game for the Yeomen.
 
Staying on the road, Oberlin heads to Trine for their next game on Wednesday, March 19 at, 5 p.m.
