Granville, Ohio - The Oberlin College men's soccer team finished on the wrong end of a 1-0 outcome at Denison University on Wednesday night.
The Yeomen failed to generate many opportunities, getting off just one shot on the night, courtesy of
Matt Taubman.
The game went to half deadlocked with no score on either side despite six first-half shots from the Big Red.
Shortly after the restart, the Big Red would net the game's lone goal as Jake Krueger sent his shot into the upper left 90 with the help of a Zarius Eusebe feed.
Taubman's attempt came off a corner just under 10 minutes into the opening half but Tommy Prokos was there to secure his attempt.
The Big Red finished with an 11-1 shot advantage, including a 5-1 margin in shots on goal. Denison, which got whistled for 10 offside infractions, also had a 10-1 advantage on corners.
Grayson Benson and
Vince Fortuna split time in goal and combined for three saves with two coming from Fortuna in the second half.
The loss dropped the Yeomen back to 4-7-1 overall and 0-2-0 in the NCAC. Denison moved to 7-1-3 and 2-0-0 in league play.
