Oberlin, Ohio – In a tough road match against Wooster, the Oberlin College men's soccer team came up short, falling 3-2 to the Fighting Scots. The Crimson and Gold slip to 4-6-1 overall with a conference record of 0-1
The game was highly competitive from the start, with both teams exchanging goals early.
Anthony Pacewicz leveled the score at 1-1 just three minutes into the game, netting his fourth goal of the season off an assist from
Louis Gandelheid.
Oberlin kept the pressure on, with
Carlos Febles-Flores scoring his first goal of the year in the 19', giving Oberlin a 2-1 lead.
Wooster responded quickly, tying the game at 2-2 with a goal from Max Wiley just before the half.
Oberlin had several opportunities in the second half, recording seven shots on goal, including key efforts from
Xander Francoeur. Wooster's goalkeeper, Andrew Beazley, was solid, saving five well-placed shots. The Fighting Scots ultimately secured the win with a late goal by Walker Johnson in the 81'.
Oberlin totaled 13 shots, with seven on target, while Wooster managed 16 shots with nine on goal.
Grayson Benson made six saves for Oberlin, keeping the team in the match despite Wooster's offensive surge.
The Yeomen return to the road when they travel south to take on Denison this Wednesday, October 9 for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
