Lexington, KY - The Oberlin College field hockey team gutted out a 1-0 win at Transylvania University on Sunday afternoon. 

The game's lone goal came courtesy of junior Elly Scheer in the 21st minute, marking her first score of the season and fourth of her career. 

As they have for the bulk of the season, the Yeowomen defense stood tall again, earning its third shutout in the run of play this fall. 

Janny McCormick made eight saves to run her season total 123. 

The Pioneers came in with 18 goals on the year, but Oberlin dealt them their seventh shutout loss of the season. 

Transylvania had a 12-1 shot advantage and ended with a 10-1 differential in penalty corners. 

Oberlin moved to 1-12 overall and 1-8 in the NCAC while Transy fell back to 7-8 and 4-6 in conference play.

The Yeowomen will conclude their season on Saturday at Allegheny College with the first touch set for noon.
