Meadville, PA - The Oberlin College field hockey team dropped its final match of the season, falling 1-0 in overtime at Allegheny College on Saturday afternoon.
The Yeowomen had an inspired defensive effort but failed to generate much offensive movement as the Gators had a 22-4 shot advantage and a 20-4 margin in penalty corners. Oberlin did put a pair of shots on frame, which came off the sticks of
Clare Kammeier and
Mary Rodman.
Despite the aggressive attack, Allegheny needed overtime to finally break through Oberlin's rearguard as Bella Cowen finished off a penalty corner with the help of a Emily Jackson assist at the 63:54 mark for her thirds goal of the season.
Janny McCormick made 15 saves to cap her season total at 138, while
Johana Horvath also added a defensive save for the Yeowomen.
Oberlin concludes the season with a record of 1-13 overall and 1-9 in the NCAC.
