OBERLIN, OH – In a close conference battle at home, the Oberlin College men's basketball team fell to Wooster 72-62 on Wednesday night. Although a highly contested loss, the Yeomen move to 9-8 overall and 3-5 in conference play.

JJ Gray led the Crimson and Gold offense with a team-high 22 points and three rebounds.

How It Happened
Wooster came out of the gates fighting, knocking down their first shot of the game for a 3-0 lead. The Yeomen struggled to get to the rim, finally scoring when Micanovic found the basket at the 18:03 mark. The Fighting Scots continued their early momentum with back-to-back three-pointers, as they extended their lead to 14 midway through the half. Led by Gray, the Crimson and Gold picked up the pace for a 10-5 run, highlighted by seven points from the rookie. Radusinovic and Okubo kept the ball rolling into the final seconds of the half to bring the score to 36-30, still down at the break.
The momentum completely shifted to the Yeomen's side as
Will Bousquette III opened the half with a three-pointer from a distance. Gray evened the score at 39-39 for the first time in the game before Bousquette scored again to give the Crimson and Gold their first lead. The pace of the game slowed over the next several minutes until the Oberlin offense began clicking again with a big three from Bousquette and another layup from Radusinovic to tie the game again at 55 all.
As the game came down to the wire, Oberlin's Gray drilled a three to pull within five of Wooster. With less than 30 seconds remaining in the game, Oberlin faced an eight-point deficit. Too little, too late, the Yeomen fell to the Fighting Scots 72-62.
