Crawfordsville, IN - The Wabash College football team scored early and often en route to a 59-6 victory over the Oberlin College Yeomen on Saturday afternoon.
The Yeomen offense sputtered throughout the day, finishing with just 69 yards and three first downs while Wabash racked up 490 yards of total offense and moved the chains 27 times.Â
The Little Giants scored 31 first-quarter points before adding on 14 more in each of the second and third quarters.Â
Yeomen quarterback
Drew Nye was 7-of-18 60 yards and was sacked five times. He did throw a 46-yard touchdown to first-year
Cameron Burke to cap a 6-play, 57-yard drive with 10:12 left in the game.
NuNu Samuels had nine carries for 22 yards, while
Jamykle Benison added 16 yards rushing on 10 attempts.Â
Luca Friedman led Oberlin defense with nine tackles, while
Brandon Hall and
Hunter Green each contributed seven stops.
Joey Draper also added a sack in the loss.
The Yeomen return to the Austin E. Knowlton Athletics Complex next weekend to celebrate Homecoming with a match-up against the high-powered Tigers of DePauw. The opening kickoff is set for 1 p.m.Â
