OBERLIN, OH - After taking the first shot of the game, the Oberlin College men's soccer team dropped their home match against Capital 2-0 on Wednesday night. The Yeomen struggled to find consistent offensive momentum in the match, falling to 1-3-2 on the season.

How it Happened
The Comets and the Yeomen held strong through the first ten minutes before Oberlin broke open the offensive game with the first shot on goal in the 23'. Nasim Amer took the shot, aiming for center cage before Capital's Ethan Ogden made the save. At the 30', the Comets earned a corner kick and sent the ball deep into the box for visitors in purple to capitalize upon. Even with the first goal of the game, Capital's attack never let up, forcing Colvin Iorio to make a save just seconds later.
Unable to convert a shot on goal, Oberlin walked into the second half down 1-0. The Crimson and Gold's first attack came off the foot of Anthony Pacewicz, but was stopped short at the goal line. Capital made it a 2-0 game in the 69' behind a fastbreak on offense.
The Yeomen's offense increased over the waning minutes of their match, with their best look at goal resulting in a top-shelf save off the foot of Nathan Thompson. Without converting a shot, the Yeomen dropped the scoreless match, 2-0.
