Oberlin, OH – Traveling to Indiana for their first of two road games, the Oberlin College field hockey team took on Marian on Saturday afternoon. The Crimson and Gold were unable to overpower the Sabres and ultimately fell in the 5-0 battle. Oberlin drops to 0-1 to start the season with the hopes of bouncing back before returning home.
How it Happened
The Sabres broke open the scoring just four minutes into the match before adding to the damage later in the first quarter. Down 2-0, Oberlin's
Janny McCormick stood tall in goals, responding with seven saves to hold the scoreline at the half.
The defense couldn't hold the aggressive Marian attack, conceding another pair of goals in the opening minutes of the second half. Oberlin never connected with the back of the net as the Sabres added one more insurance goal to close out the 5-0 match.
