Sandusky, OH - The Oberlin volleyball team cruised through a pair of wins to open their 2023 campaign. A 3-0 win (25-17, 25-14, 25-16) against the Pittsburgh-Greensburg Bobcats was followed up with another 3-0 win (25-14, 25-16, 25-10) over the Mount Aloysius Mustangs on Friday afternoon at Sports Force Park.
The non-conference victories give Oberlin a 2-0 to start the season before returning to the court tomorrow for a 12 p.m. match with Manchester.
Oberlin vs. Pittsburg Greensburg
Cami Sweet finished with nine kills to lead the Oberlin attack while finishing with a hitting percentage of .412. OC also got 20 digs from sophomore transfer Iris Archibald to guide the back row effort.Â

SET 1 | Oberlin won the first point and held the lead the rest of the way to secure the first set 25-17. Oberlin opened up the match in convincing fashion, collecting 15 kills in the process.
SET 2 | Oberlin continued to roll after a set-one win by securing a 25-14 victory in set two. The Yeowomen took control of the set lead early on at 3-2 and never trailed. Oberlin led by as many as 13 points at 23-10 before closing out the set, collecting 17 kills in the win.
SET 3 | Oberlin took set three with relative ease. Strong serving helped the the Yeowomen clinch the match, notching six aces in the win. Oberlin ended on a strong note, stretching its lead to its nine, 23-14, before finishing out the affair.
