University Heights, OH- In their season opener, the Oberlin College men's soccer team took on the 13th-ranked John Carroll Blue Streaks on Friday night. A hard-fought battle to the whistle left the Yeomen on the wrong side of a 2-1 scoreline as they dropped to 0-1-0 to begin the year.
How it Happened
After a defensive battle through the opening half, John Carroll's Patrick Koenig notched the team's first goal in the 29'. With a 1-0 lead at the half, the Blue Streaks added another score at the tail-end of the match to go up 2-0 on the Yeomen. Oberlin's Louis Gandelheid finally put the Crimson and Gold on the board in the 89' to tally his second career goal.
