Crawfordsville, IN - Seven players scored multiple goals as the Oberlin College men's lacrosse team cruised to a 20-5 road win at Wabash College.
Max Cha, Michael Mudoon,
Jacob Starcke,
Solomon Brennan, and
Niko Maheras each scored three goals with Cha and Brennan also adding an assist along the way to finish with four points apiece.
After Wabash scored the game's first goal, it was all Yeomen from there as they responded with six first-quarter goals to lead 6-3 after 15 minutes of play.
The Oberlin defense also answered the call after the slow start, holding the Little Giants scoreless for the final 6:23 of the first quarter all the way until the 6:39 mark of the third period.
During their scoring drought, a barrage of goals was flowing on the other end of the field as Oberlin scored 11 straight times to open up a 15-3 lead. Starke scored all three of his goals during the onslaught while freshman
Drew Bornstein also got into the mix and now has five goals over the last two games.
With the final outcome never in doubt, Oberlin went on to add five more goals with some of its reserves on the field, including junior
Leander Herman who found the back of the net for the second straight game.
Oberlin finished with a 68-24 shot advantage and went 23-of-28 on clear opportunities
Jake Pillsbury played all 60 minutes between the pipes and made eight saves for the Yeomen.
The win ran the Yeomen's record to 6-4 overall and 2-1 in the NCAC. Wabash fell to 7-3 and 1-1 in league play.
The Yeomen will have their toughest test of the season on Tuesday night at Denison University. The opening face-off is set for 7 p.m. .
