Yeomen Top Bishops to Cap Off Regular Season

Delaware, OH - The Oberlin College men's tennis team closed out the regular season with an 8-1 road win at Ohio Wesleyan University on Sunday afternoon. 

The Yeomen swept through doubles play to grab a 3-0 match advantage. Sean Billerbeck and Rohan Gold were inserted into the top spot and dismantled Mark Siriwanichkul and José Mancilla, 8-2. The No. 3 battle was next to finish where James Dill and Grant North were also 8-2 winners over Elliot Spicer and Rainer Holl. The sweep was finished off at No. 2 as Shawn Lisann and Sebastien Naginski set aside Kobe Francis and Marcelo Aguilar by an 8-4 count.

Oberlin would quickly clinch the match, winning in top two singles flights. In the No. 1 slot, Billberck took care of Siriwanichkul 6-2, 7-5 while Gold followed with a 6-0, 6-1 thrashing of Francis at No. 2. 

Playing in their final regular season match, the senior trio of Dill, Sam Topper, and Nathan Englehart took their swings in flights four through six. In the No. 4 position, Dill got by Mancila in three sets, falling 4-6 before bouncing back with 6-2 and 10-3 wins. Topper had a much easier time with Spicer at No. 5, winning by matching 6-1 counts. 

Englehart finished off the victory by going unblemished with a pair of 6-0 wins over Holl.

The Yeomen finish the regular season at 10-7 overall and 4-3 in the NCAC as they await their draw for next weekend's NCAC Tournament.
