Oberlin, Ohio – Taking on the 12
th- ranked team in the nation, the Oberlin College women's tennis team fell to Case Western 7-2 on Thursday night. The Crimson and Gold squad drop back to 8-8 with the loss.
Earning a statement victory in the top doubles slot were
Marta Laska and
Anna Pastore. The tandem defeated Hannah Kassaie and Lily McCloskey, the #2 doubles team in the region, by a score of 8-3.
Lydia Zafeiri and
Dina Nouaime dropped a close battle in the #2 doubles match, falling just 8-6.
Laska's success continued as she won her No. 1 singles match in 6-2, 7-5 fashion. Pastore fought hard for another win but the sophomore fell 7(6)-6(1), 6-2 before Zafeiri fell 6-3, 6-1 in the final singles match.
Oberlin plays their final regular season match this Saturday, April 15 when they host Wittenberg for a midday match. First serve is set for 1pm.
