Oberlin, Ohio- In a Sunday afternoon match at home, the Oberlin College women's tennis team defeated Baldwin Wallace 6-3. Although technically not a sweep, the Yeowomen won every match they played, giving up three points only to default.
In the doubles competition, the No.1 duo of
Marta Laska and
Anna Pastore were perfect as they took down BW's Gabriela Heidman and Kierstyn Yates 8-0. The No. 2 pairing of
Dina Nouaime and
Lydia Zafeiri also swept their competition, winning their match 8-0.
Laska claimed another point for the Crimson and Gold in the top singles slot, with a 6-0, 6-1 victory. No. 2 Pastore followed that with a 6-0,6-1 win of her own before Zafieri won 6-1, 6-0 in the fourth spot. The spotlight was on Nouaime who won 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 3 singles spot as the junior won every point in her matches today.
Oberlin hits the road for the first time this spring as they head south to Gambier on Wednesday, March 1 for a date with Kenyon. The doubles competition will kick off at 4:30pm with singles matches following thereafter.
