#18 Kenyon Downs Oberlin On the Road

GAMBIER, OH- Taking on their perennial rival, the Oberlin College men's soccer team traveled to the 18th-ranked Kenyon Owls on Tuesday afternoon.  The Owls put away three goals in the first half before Oberlin stifled their attack in the final 45 minutes. Dropping the game 3-0, the Crimson and Gold move to 3-7-6 and 1-3-3 in the NCAC.

Oberlin takes one more rod trip on Saturday, October 28 to take on Wabash in their season finale.

How it Happened

After Colvin Iorio saved a pair of Owls' shots, Kenyon finally broke free and snuck one past the junior keeper. An unexpected shot from 30 yards out put the Owls on the board at the 13:01 mark. Kenyon added another goal to their tally when the attack slipped past Oberlin's backline for a one-on-one chance with Iorio. Before the end of the half, the national-ranked Owls tacked on one more goal to extend their lead to three.

Coming out of the half, Caros Febles-Flores got the attack going with a shot to just off to the right of the cage. Kenyon responded with a pair of shots on cage that Iorio saved, before Kevin McDonough took another shot against the home team. Anthony Pacewicz and Nathan Thompson registered the final shots of the match, butthe Kenyon keeper made both saves to keep the Yeomen scoreless.

Game Notes

·      Nasim Amer and Thompson paced the offense with two shots each.

·      Iorio totaled six saves and 90 minutes in cage.
