Cross Country Gets Final Tune-up Ahead of Conference Meet

The Oberlin College men's and women's cross country teams competed at the 42nd Annual Mike Woods Invitational at the National Warplane Museum on Saturday morning. 

The men's team placed 18th out of 25 squads, totaling 511 points. The Oberlin women's team finished in 16th place out of 23 teams with 428 points. 

Junior Jonah Barber was the top Yeomen finisher, placing 111th with a time of 25:50.4. Classmate Danny Markey completed the 8k journey in 26:06.3 to end in 142nd place while adding 98 points to the team total. Johnny Ragsdale was close behind, finishing two places back in 26:08.2.

Junior Walter Moak came through the chute in 26:25.7 to end in 166th place in the 371-runner field. 

Senior Aidan Duffield rounded out Oberlin's point producers in 26:30.0 to place 173rd, scoring 116 points. Underclassmen Charlie Endres (26:35.5 / 180th) and Will Gordon (26:37.0 / 181st) were the team's top two displacers. 

Senior Eliza Medearis led the women's team by placing 50th in 22:32.4, while junior Sage Reddish was 10 seconds back in 22:42.2 to end in 66th place out of 300 runners. 

Senior Margo Lee turned in a strong performance, finishing 129th overall and picking up 96 points for the team with a time of 23:55.5. 

Junior Camila Ciembroniewicz clocked in at 24:20.8 to take 160th, while sophomore Amber Borofsky completed the team's top five finishers in 168th with a mark of 24:29.2.

First-year Sophie Mateja completed the trek in 24:33.7 to be the top displacer in 171st, while Caleigh Lyons finished off the top-seven in 192nd place with a time of 24:58.0.

Carnegie Mellon won the men's 8k with 51 points, while Carleton took the top spot in the women's 5K with 50 points. 

The NCAC Championship meet is set for October 28 in Granville, Ohio.
