An aggressive offense came out early against Oberlin, but the defense led by
Abbie Patchen and Scheer held Nazareth off the board. After a plethora of corner opportunities, Nazareth finally found the back of the net off corner pass to the center of the arch for a 1-0 lead.
Â
Coming out of the half down 1-0, Oberlin settled on their offensive end before earning a penalty strike. One-on-one with the goalie, Scheer stepped up to the line and drilled the ball into the upper left corner for the Yeowomen's first goal of the season. Scoreless headed into the final minutes of play, Nazareth got ahead of the Crimson and Gold defense on a fast break towards goal. With just
Post there to make the save, the senior keeper came out to the top of the arch for the diving stop. Deadlocked at 1-1, the match headed into 7v7, golden-goal overtime.
Â
As soon as the extra period got underway, both teams found themselves sprinting up and down the field pining for scoring opportunities.
