Oberlin, Ohio – The Oberlin College Yeomen and Hiram College Terriers head into Saturday's North Coast Athletic Conference showdown in search of their first win.

Inside the Series …
Saturday's matchup marks the 64th all-time meeting between the Yeomen and the Terriers with the first clash coming all the way back in 1895 … Oberlin, which owns a 33-30 series advantage, has defeated Hiram in four straight games with the last Terriers victory coming on November 12, 2016 when they won 36-14 … While the Yeomen have had the Terriers number as of late, three of their last four victories have been decided by seven points or less.
 
Scouting the Terriers …
Freshman Sean Tejeda and senior Xavier Reyero have split time at quarterback so far this season, combining for 439 yards with just one touchdown against five interceptions … Senior Malcolm Rogers has had more success on the ground, averaging 6.3 yards per carry and 69.3 yards per game while accounting for all three of the team's rushing touchdowns … Junior linebacker Dylan Baliker headlines the defense with 31 tackles while Floyd Shackelford and Joseph Siracki each have a pair of sacks … Hiram is averaging an NCAC low 12.8 points per game while giving up 39.3, which is second highest in the conference.
 
Last Time Against the Terriers …
Quarterback Chris Allen Jr. accounted for 351 yards and four touchdowns in a 31-28 win at Hiram last season ... The Atco, New Jersey, native completed 24-of-36 passes for 247 yards and two scores to go along with a career-high 104 rushing yards and two more TDs on the ground … With the Yeomen trailing 28-24 late in the fourth quarter, Allen Jr. orchestrated the game-winning drive, covering 75-yards on 10 plays in 3:34 …  Brandon Davies corralled five of his nine targets for 57 yards and a score, while Brian Colarusso caught a game-high seven passes for 52 yards to accompany the go-ahead touchdown in the closing moments.
 
Perfect Penta …
Oberlin College place kicker Wes Penta has been perfect so far this season, connecting on all eight of his extra point attempts while going 1-of-1 on field goal tries… Last week at Denison he cashed in a field goal from 29-yards out.
 
One-Man Band …
Senior quarterback Chris Allen Jr. has been the catalyst of the Yeomen offense so far this season, accounting for seven of the team's eight touchdowns with five TD tosses and two touchdown runs … Allen Jr., who is the lone Oberlin player with a rushing TD, leads the team and is ranked 12th in the NCAC in rushing with an average of 42.3 yards per game … He heads into Saturday with 4,580 yards of total offense, trailing Josh Mandel (4,709) for fifth all-time by just 129 yards and James Parker (4,828) for fourth all-time by 248 yards.
 
There Are No Flags on the Field …
The Yeomen have been one of the most disciplined teams in the NCAC this season, ranking third in the conference in penalty yards at 44 per game … Only DePauw (30.5 pypg) and Wooster (36.8 pypg) fare better than Oberlin … On the year, Oberlin has committed 16 infractions for 132 yards.
 
Missing the Magic Elixir …
The Yeomen offense has had a lot of moving parts through the first three games as nine different players have at least one rushing attempt while 10 different Yeomen caught at least one pass … The Yeomen average only 324.3 yards of offense per game, which is eighth in the league and ahead of only Hiram who checks in at 275.3 ypg.
