Field Hockey Setback by the Scots

Wooster, Ohio - The Oberlin College field hockey team dropped a 3-1 decision on Tuesday night at the College of Wooster.

The Yeowomen kept the Scots at the bay for much of the contest but didn't have enough offensive push to impact the final outcome.

It was Oberlin who netted the game's first goal less than six minutes into the battle as Vanessa Baker finished off a penalty corner with the help of an Elly Scheer feed. It marked Baker's second score of the year and Scheer's second helper.

The Scots' Mary Johnson evened the count with 50 ticks left in the first quarter and Wooster would add a goal in each of the second and third quarters to pull away for the win.

Wooster finished with a 21-1 advantage in shots, including a 12-1 margin in shots on goal. The Scots also ended with a 10-1 differential in penalty corners.

Post  made seven saves in the loss, while Jackie Oh added a pair of defensive saves for Oberlin.

Oberlin returns to action on Saturday at 1 p.m. as the Wittenberg University Tigers invade the Austin E. Knowlton Athletics Complex.
