Field Hockey Falls at Home

Oberlin, Ohio- The Oberlin College field hockey team fell in a 3-0 to the DePauw Tigers in a non-conference battle. The loss drops the Yeowomen to an even 2-2 record.

Earning the start in cage for the Crimson and Gold was senior keeper Post who made four saves in the match. Rookie goalie Janny McCormick came in for relief in the final minutes of the match. The lone shot from the Yeowomen came off the stick of Susan Robinson-Cluete in the second quarter.

The Tigers came out strong against the Yeowomen, notching their first score just four minutes in. Oberlin rallied to hold off their Hoosier rivals over the next quarter but ultimately conceding another goal before the half.

Down 2-0, Oberlin looked to get their offense moving but DePauw maintained their momentum and tallied another goal midway through the third quarter. As the final period got underway, the Tigers added a trio of insurance goals to shut out Oberlin 6-0.

Oberlin takes a short break before taking the field again for their next match on Tuesday, September 20. This time, they hit the road to Wooster to face the Fighting Scots for a 7pm night match.
