Oberlin, Ohio- The Oberlin College men's soccer team played host to Bethany on Sunday afternoon where they fell in a physical 2-0 match. The Yeomen fall back on a 2-3-0 on the season before another home matchup.
Â
The Crimson and Gold got off to a hot start in the first half, earning several scoring opportunities but sending their shots just wide of the net.
Louis Gandelheid found himself inside the goal box for a chance, but a clean defense by Bethany spoiled the first-year's shot. Ending the half scoreless, the Bison and Yeomen headed to the sidelines to reset their strategy.
Â
Bethany came right out of the gates with a goal in the 53' coming off a long cross from the far corner. The Bison continued to play aggressive on the ball as the match found itself becoming more physical on tired legs. A foul on Oberlin led to a penalty kick for Bethany in the 64', which the Bison capitalized on to take the 2-0 lead. The Yeomen were unable to maintain possession over the course of the second half, eventually falling to the Bison 2-0.

The Yeomen looks to get back to on track as they host Alma next Saturday, September 17. Kickoff is set for 1pm with a live stream available
