Gambier, Ohio – The Oberlin College women's tennis team blanked the DePauw University Tigers, 5-0, to take third place in the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament.
The Yeowomen finished the season at 12-10 overall in dual matches and claimed third place in the league for the first time since 2018.
The sister duo of
Claudia Olaes and
Isabelle Olaes were 8-6 victors over Ellen Gardner and Kat Wilder in the top doubles flight.
Marta Laska and
Anna Pastore doubled up Kiley Shaw and Kate Stanley, 8-4, at No. 2, while the third pairing of
Francesca Kern and
Dina Nouaime set aside Alex Preston and Lindsay Parks by an 8-3 count.
The Yeowomen beat the Tigers 9-0 in the regular season and would stay clean throughout today's rematch.
Laska made short work of Gardner in the top singles flight, knocking off the Tigers ace 6-1, 6-0 to secure her 15
th win of the year in singles action.
Pastore locked down her team-high 17
th win of the season, blanking Wilder by matching 6-0 counts at No. 2.
Oberlin was also up a set a three, four, and five singles when the match ended.
The Yeowomen will bid farewell to seniors
