Track & Field Honors Seniors at Bob Kahn Invitational

Oberlin, Ohio – In addition to posting plethora impressive results, the Oberlin College track and field team honored its senior class on day two of the Bob Kahn Invitational.
 
Oberlin claimed three of the top four places in the women's shot put at the non-team scored meet. Abby Cannon claimed the victory at 35-07.25 (10.85m) while Iyanna Lewis followed with a mark of 34-05.50 (10.50m). Victoria Blair rounded out the grouping in fourth at 34-04.25 (10.47m). On the men's side of the event, Zac Ntia was second with a toss of 43-11.75 (13.40m).
 
Cannon recorded another victory in the discus, souring a throw 124-09 (38.02m) with Shayla Keegan coming in third with a mark of 120-06 (36.74m). Ntia was second in the event for the men at 121-01 (36.92m).
 
Malaïka Djungu-Sungu posted the conference's top mark in the long jump with a winning performance of 18-00.25 (5.49m). Senior Clare Tiedemann was second in the meet and is now second in the NCAC at 17-11.50 (5.47m). Freshman Jake Jarvis won the men's side of the event at 20-06.50 (6.06m).
 
The 800 meters saw three Oberlin runners finish in the top four. Anna Scott clocked in at 2:23.30 and senior classmate Phoebe von Conta followed in at 2:24.03. First-year Camila Ciembroniewicz was fourth with a time of 2:30.09. Scott also moved into first in the NCAC in the 1,500 with a winning run of 4:47.35 while von Conta was second in the race and is now second in the conference with a time of 4:47.45.
 
Sarah Voit put down the pole vault and finished second in the 200-meters at 27.10. She also ran second on the winning 4x100 relay the clocked in at 51.57.
 
In the 100 meters, it was a 1-2-3 Oberlin finish as rookie Heather Benway bested the field 13.21. Jada Kennerly was right on her coattails at 13.22 while Djungu-Sungu was third in 13.26.
 
The hosts won both of ends of the 400 meters as Cole Fuller topped 13 other runners in 52.21, while Tiedemann moved into second in the NCAC with a victory in 1:00.33.
 
The Oberlin is back in action next weekend at the All-Ohio Championships.
