Track and Field Finish NCAA Championships

Winston-Salem, NC – In the second day of the NCAA Indoor Championships, Malaïka Djungu-Sungu competed as the sole athlete representing the Oberlin track and field team.

Participating in the triple jump, Djungu-Sungu faulted on her first two attempts before leaping 11.36m (37-03.25). The bound was not enough for Djungu-Sungu to qualify for the final three attempts as she earned 17th overall, an improvement from her seeded position.

The team finished the NCAA Championships garnering a pair of All-American accolades and a trio of new school records.

With the indoor track season officially over, Oberlin takes a three week hiatus before returning for the outdoor season. The Crimson and Gold will kick outdoor competition off with the Oberlin College Spring Opener on Saturday, April 2 beginning at 11am.

Fans can watch all the home matches live online. Home contests can be accessed on a TV through the official Oberlin College Sports Network app on Roku, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire TV.
