Winston-Salem, NC – In the second day of the NCAA Indoor Championships,
Malaïka Djungu-Sungu competed as the sole athlete representing the Oberlin track and field team.
Participating in the triple jump, Djungu-Sungu faulted on her first two attempts before leaping 11.36m (37-03.25). The bound was not enough for Djungu-Sungu to qualify for the final three attempts as she earned 17
th overall, an improvement from her seeded position.
The team finished the NCAA Championships garnering a pair of All-American accolades and a trio of new school records.
With the indoor track season officially over, Oberlin takes a three week hiatus before returning for the outdoor season. The Crimson and Gold will kick outdoor competition off with the Oberlin College Spring Opener on Saturday, April 2 beginning at 11am.
