Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Basketball Drops Heartbreaker on the Road

Westerville, Ohio- Coming off their first win of the season, the Oberlin College men's basketball team looked to keep the wins coming but fell on a game winning buzzer-beater at Otterbein 58-57. The loss drops the Yeomen to 1-3 on the year.

Dorde Otasevic led the Crimson and Gold's effort as he notched his second double-double of the year with 16 points and 13 rebounds. The senior from Montenegro also chipped in a pair of assists and steals.

In a low-scoring first half, Oberlin struggled to put points on the board early. Taking matters into his own hands, Otasevic broke open the scoring with a three-pointer off a Yuuki Okubo feed.. Playing from behind, the Yeomen rallied for back-to-back buckets in the final minutes but couldn't overcome the early lead to sit trailing at 30-21 at halftime.

Starting where they left off, Andrew Gannon found Otasevic across the wing for another three to cut the Cardinals' lead to six. Minutes later, Dimitrije Radusinovic got on the board with a step back two before Cole Otley kept the Yeomen rolling with a three. Within striking distance, Otasevic put it all together with a hook shot to give Oberlin their first lead of the night. Once up, the Yeomen never looked back as they maintained their lead for over 11 minutes before the Cardinals hit a game-winner three pointer with less than a second on the clock. Oberlin fell 58-57 in the final second.

The Yeomen hit the road again, traveling north this time, to take on Kalamazoo on Saturday, November 19. Tip off is set for 3pm with a live stream available here and live stats here.
