Oberlin, Ohio- After welcoming back alumni, friends, and family for Homecoming Weekend, the Oberlin College women's soccer team fell in a hard-fought battle to Denison on Saturday night. The 1-0 draw moved the Yeowomen to 6-4-0 (0-2-0) as they continue the search for their first conference win next week.
Â
Benji earned the start in goal for the night cap making seven impressive saves throughout the game. What may have been her greatest save of the season came at the 75' when Denison's Caroline Flynn barreled down field facing a one-on-one with Benji. As the Big Red attack aimed, the junior keeper dove to the left, stopping the ball short of the goal line. On the Crimson and Gold attack,
Heather Benway managed to get the ball upfield often, but ultimately fell short of capitalizing on the opportunity as the Denison backline overwhelmed the California native. Unable to find the back of the net, the Yeowomen fell in an unfortunate 1-0 battle.

The Yeowomen get back in action as they head out to Hiram for a late night match on Wednesday, October 12. The NCAC foes will kickoff under the lights at 7pm with a live stream available
