Granville, Ohio- The Oberlin College men's soccer team traveled to central Ohio for an NCAC matchup with Denison. The Big Red and the Yeomen went scoreless for the full 90 minutes in the 0-0 tie. Oberlin now sits at 4-5-1 overall and 0-2-1 in the NCAC.
Â
Although the Big Red out-shot the Yeomen 15-12, sophomore keeper
Colvin Iorio tallied a near-career high saves at nine. The backline also defended eight corner kicks from Denison and helped the OC offense outshoot the Big Red in the second half.
Â
The Yeomen's best scoring opportunity came midway through the first half when
Nasim Amer pushed the ball upfield to send a shot towards cage. Ricocheting off the goalie,
Jon Schafer managed another shot on goal only to be blocked by a Big Red defender. Seconds later,
Toby Wells-Zimmerman got in on the action, but a misplaced shot sent the ball high and ended the attack.
Â
The Yeomen take the rest of the weekend off before returning to the pitch on Tuesday, October 11 as they take on NCAC rival Kenyon. The match will kickoff at 7pm with a live stream available
