Field Hockey Upended at Wittenberg

Springfield, OH – The Oberlin College field hockey team suffered a 5-0 setback at Wittenberg University on Saturday afternoon.

The Yeowomen struggled to generate much offensive movement, failing to attempt a single shot in the contest.

The Tigers led just 1-0 at the half but would add a pair of goals in each the third and fourth quarters to leave no doubt in the eventual outcome.

Post and Janny McCormick split time in goal, combining to make seven saves. Elly Scheer also had a defensive save for Oberlin.

The Tigers finished with 22 shots, 13 of which were on goal. They also earned 16 penalty corners in the win while Oberlin triggered just one.

Oberlin has a short turnaround, going right back to work tomorrow afternoon as Ohio Wesleyan University invades the Austin E. Knowlton Athletics Complex for a 3 p.m. NCAC clash.
