Ashland, Ohio – The Oberlin College women's tennis team wrapped up its official fall competition over the weekend, participating in a doubles tournament at Ashland University.
The Yeowomen's pairing of
Marta Laska and
Anna Pastore found much success in the event as did the combination of
Dina Nouaime and
Lydia Zafeiri as the two teams combined to win eight of their 11 matches.
Laska and Pastore went 4-2 with three of their four wins coming against Division II foes from Ashland, Michigan Tech, and Saginaw Valley State University. The duo also earned an 8-2 victory over Kim Nguyen and Charitha Patlolla from the College of Wooster.
Nouaime and Zafeiri also notched four wins over five matches, knocking off Division II opponents from Tiffin and West Virigina State University along the way. Additionally, the senior-freshman tandem took down Katie Materick and Abby Williams of Wooster by an 8-4 count and Jaclyn Voss and Kaylyn Gimbal of John Carroll by an 8-2 margin.
The Yeowomen will conclude their fall practice schedule in the coming days before resting up for the winter ahead of the traditional spring season.
