Wooster, Ohio- The Oberlin College women's soccer team travelled south to open North Coast Athletic Conference play as they took on the Wooster Fighting Scots on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Fighting Scots came out swinging in the first half, putting a shot on goal just 34 seconds after the whistle. Battling with a strong NCAC foe, Oberlin's Zoe Garver got the team's first shot on goal in the 19' sending to the center of the cage before it was saved. The Wooster offense soon took over, tallying their first score at the 19:12 mark. Short time later the Fighting Scots extended their lead with goal in the 28'.
 
Looking get on the board in the second half, Oberlin did just that as Heather Benway found Garver to put a tally on the board. Minutes later, the Fighting Scots reclaimed their two-goal advantage. The high-scoring action continued as Garver found Benway this time to bring the score to 3-2, Oberlin still looking for the equalizer. Unable to connect on any  other the shots, the Yeowomen fell in the conference opener, but not before Wooster scored an insurance goal for a final score of 4-2.
 
The Yeowomen get back in action for their final non-conference match as they play host to Adrian next Thursday, October 6. The match is set to kickoff at 7pm with a live stream available here and live stats here.
