Oberlin, Ohio – Oberlin College first-year women's basketball player
Camille Zinaich was named North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
A native of Boonsboro, Maryland, Zinaich has been simply sensational through the Yeowomen's first 10 games and last week was no different as she matched a career-high with 17 points while adding 12 rebounds and seven assists in Oberlin's 57-40 win over Chatham University.
The performance marked her third double-double of the season and third straight game with double-digit rebounds. On the year, she has seven double-figure rebounding performances and four games with six or more assists.
Zinaich has played a major role in getting the Yeowomen off to a 9-1 start, as she leads the NCAC in rebounds per game (10.5) and field goal percentage (54.1%) while ranking fourth in the league with 3.8 assists per contest.
Zinaich is the second Oberlin player this season to earn the weekly prestige from the NCAC as
Gina Lombard previously received the laurels back on November 15.
Zinaich and the Yeowomen will head to the left coast next week for games against Pomona-Pitzer (Dec. 29) and Occidental (Dec. 31).
