Oberlin, OH- After 110 minutes of action, the Oberlin men's soccer team tied with the Wittenberg Tigers for a 2-2 draw on Saturday night. The team moves to a 3-6-3 overall record and 1-1-1 in NCAC play.

Oberlin's offense set the pace of the game early with shots on goal from both
Augie Smith and
Nic Jandeleit. The Yeomen controlled the ball for nearly the entirety of the first ten minutes of the match until the Tigers recorded their first pair of shots on goal, both coming at the 14'. With both shots getting blocked by the Yeomen, the score remained 0-0 midway through the half. The two squads went shot for shot over the next 20 minutes, before Wittenberg earned a corner kick that they converted to the first score of the game. With 8:30 remaining, the Tigers say pretty with their one goal advantage until Wittenberg committed a foul in the midfield. With the opportunity to set up a play on the free kick, Oberlin's
Harrison Tramposch sent the ball into the box looking for the tying goal.
Ryan Kim connected with the ball and headed it into the back of the net to tie the game at 1-1 as time expired.

With both teams looking for the goal to put their squad ahead, the second half opened with plenty of action. Kim looked for his second goal of the nighty as he connected with the ball off a corner kick but sent the shot just wide of the net. A pair of yellow cards midway through the half gave Oberlin free kick opportunities, but unable to convert the setups, both teams remained deadlocked at 1-1. After a slew of shots, Wittenberg finally broke away as Nick Harding launched a shot from 30 yards out into the upper half of the cage. Just minutes later, Kim had the answer for the Yeomen, sending the ball across the goal line with his head for his second goal of the season. Tied at 2-2 with just minutes remaining, the Oberlin Yeomen looked for the goal to put them ahead for good, but unable to convert any shots, the game headed into overtime to decide a victor.

As the first overtime opened, both Jandeleit and Kim got off early shots, but unable to connect with the net, the match continued. In the ensuing possession, Wittenberg sent their first shot on goal as
Parker Whitcomb got in front to stop the ball. Needing even more time to decide the match, the second overtime period got underway but without much action, the match ended in a 2-2 tie.
The Yeomen hit the road next for a date with Allegheny Wednesday, October 13. The conference matchup will begin at 4pm with the live stream available
