Granville, OH – The Oberlin College field hockey team suffered a 2-0 setback at Denison University on Saturday afternoon to close out the conference portion of their season.
The Yeowomen struggled to generate much offensive movement, failing to attempt a single shot for the eighth time this season.
The Big Red put 15 of their 22 attempts on frame.
Julia Vincent went the distance in goal, making 11 stops to run her conference-leading saves total to 125.
The Big Red opened up a 1-0 lead in the 13th minute as Kristin Kelley finished off a corner insert. It remained just a goal deficit until early in the third quarter when Madeleine Hunt cashed in another opportunity.
Denison, which had an 11-0 advantage in corners, moved to 9-7 on the year and 6-2 in the NCAC while Oberlin dropped back to 0-16 and 0-8 in league play.
The Yeowomen will take to the Bailey Field turf for the final time this season when they tangle with Transylvania University on Sunday at 1 p.m.
