Hiram, OH- After battling in every set, the Oberlin volleyball team dropped their final regular season match 3-0 (20-25, 19-25, 24-26) to the Hiram Terriers. With the loss, the Yeowomen finish the season with an overall record of 11-12 and 2-6 in the NCAC.

As the match go started,
Taylor Gwynne served a pair of aces followed by a kill from
Lauren Fitts. The Terriers went point-for-point with the Yeowomen, eventually taking the lead on a four-point run midway through the set.
Natasha Radic notched a kill then an ace to tie the score, but Hiram outlasted Oberlin, winning the first set by a score of 25-20. In a change of pace, Oberlin earned the first point off a kill from Andréa Jones, assisted by Gwynne. Tied 6-6, the Terriers went on a six-point run to take a convincing lead in the second set. Looking to climb their way back into the game, the Yeowomen responded with an 8-2 run of their own to take a 17-16 lead. The Terriers scored the final six points of the set to win 25-19.

As the final set began the two squads earned back-to-back points until the Yeowomen went on a mid-game run led by
Lauren Sands, serving aces and knocking down a kill. Needing to even the score, Hiram went on a long run to regain the lead at 24-22. Kills from
Cami Sweet and Radic tied the game at 24-24, but earning the final two points by a kill and an ace, Hiram won the third set 26-25 to win the match, 3-0.

The Yeowomen now await their fate as the final matches in the NCAC are played out. In the next week the conference will release their seeding for the NCAC Tournament. The first-round and quarter-final matches will take place on Friday, November 5 with the semi-final and championship matches played the following day.
