The Yeomen hopped into the match, ready to go as senior
Nic Jandeleit took a shot on cage just 45 seconds into the match.
Augie Smith followed that shot with one of his, sending the ball wide left. Oberlin continued the attack, accounting for another pair of shots over the next ten minutes. In the 40', Oberlin was finally rewarded for all their offensive work as
Thomas Kanter sent a rocket from 25-yards out, into the lower right corner of the net. With a 1-0 deficit, the Fighting Scots looked to respond immediately, but a great defensive stop by
George Gworek kept Wooster off the board and sent the match into halftime, Yeomen up 1-0.

Just as the second half got underway, the Fighting Scots were looking for answer for the Yeomen's late goal in the previous half. Nearly six minutes into the half, Wooster's Moody Saadi weaved his way through the Crimson and Gold backline and sank the ball into the back of the net. Tied now at 1-1the Oberlin offense looked to challenge the Wooster rearguard and managed to get a pair of consecutive shots off. With
Ben Kessler's shot getting blocked and
Jon Schafer's shot saved, the Yeomen remained deadlocked with the Fighting Scots. With 18:07 remaining in the match, Wooster sent a long throw-in into the center of the goal box that connected with the head of a Fighting Scot to take a 2-1 lead over the Yeomen. As the clock ran below five minutes, the Yeomen made a desperate attack at cage as Kessler took aim but sent his header high. Without another shot, the clock expired and the Fighting Scots reigned victorious over the Yeomen.
Oberlin out-shot Wooster 15-4, including a 4-2 margin shots on goal. The Yeomen also had a 6-2 edge in corners while the Scots were also tagged with both yellow cards in the contest.
