Yeowomen Knockoff Bishops on the Road

Delaware, Ohio - The Oberlin College women's soccer team earned a 1-0 road win at Ohio Wesleyan University on Saturday afternoon to run its record to a perfect 2-0 in North Coast Athletic Conference play this fall.

The victory marked the first against the Bishops since 2015 when Oberlin prevailed 2-0 on October 24.

Senior goalie Isabelle Smith surpassed 200 career saves in the clean sheet victory, adding five to her total to move her account to 204 while posting her fourth shutout of the season.

The Bishops controlled the opening 45-minute stanza firing off 10 of their 13 shots in the half but the score remained nil-nil at the intermission.

The lone tally of the game came from first-year Zoe Garver who deposited her first-career goal in the 59th minute and the Yeowomen would make it stand up the rest of the way to run their overall record to 6-4.

Oberlin triggered nine shots in the contest, matching the Bishops with five shots on goal. Madeline Lynam led the Yeowomen with two shots on frame.

The loss dropped OWU back to 5-2-3 overall and 0-1-0 in league play.

The Yeowoomen return to action next Saturday at home at 4 p.m. against Wittenberg.
