Oberlin, Ohio – The visiting Ohio Northern University Polar Bears scored two goals in each session en route to earning a 4-0 win over the Oberlin College Yeomen on Saturday night at Fred Shults Field.

The loss halted a mini a two-game winning streak for the Yeomen as they fell back to 2-4 on the year. ONU improved to 3-2-1 with the victory.

The Yeomen played with more pace and vigor in the second half after being stymied by the Polar Bears throughout much of the first 45-minute stanza.

A goal from Levi King got the scoring going in the 26th minute with the help of a Beelal Hasan feed. Just moments later it was King who was on the giving end of Sergio Bugarin's goal to make a 2-0 advantage, which stood well into the second half.

In the 67th minute, a bouncing ball on the edge of the box ended up at the feet of Seth
Gundlach, who lasered one in to the lower left 90 of the cage. The final ONU tally came courtesy of Aaron Shelton after he followed Daunte George's initial shot that was saved off the crossbar by Parker Whitcomb.

The Polar Bears controlled possession throughout their attacking side, finishing with 23 shots, 12 of which were on goal. Oberlin, which won the corner kick battle 7-4, had seven shots but Simon Lowe was the only Oberlin player to put a ball on frame.

Max Buri worked the first half in goal, making three saves before Whitcomb added five more stops in the second half.

Oberlin will play its fourth contest of a five-match homestand on Wednesday night against Baldwin Wallace University. The first touch is set for 7 p.m.
