Ferrum, VA – For the second season in a row, the Oberlin College field hockey team opened up with a victory over Ferrum College as they knocked off the Panthers, 1-0, on Friday afternoon.

Bonnie Wileman cashed in her first-career goal following an insert off a penalty corner.
Oberlin controlled the run of play throughout the second half as they out-shot the Panthers 7-1 over the final 30 minutes of action. The Yeowomen also earned 13 of their 16 penalty corners following the intermission.
The Yeowomen finished with an 11-4 advantage in total shots. Senior

Olivia Jaffe each put a shot on goal as Oberlin finished with three attempts on frame in the match.
Rookie
Mary Post worked all 60 minutes between the pipes but went unchallenged as she was not required to make a save.
The victory marked the first-career win for Interim Head Coach

Oberlin has a short turn around as it heads to Sweet Briar College for a high noon showdown on Saturday.
